Yoann Gourcuff rejected Milan's sizeable offers and elected to join Bordeaux permanently, agent Didier Poulmaire has revealed.

The Rossoneri sent Gourcuff on loan to the French side last year but there was a clause in the deal that allowed Bordeaux to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Les Girondins took advantage of the clause, but Milan reportedly wanted him to return permanently. However, they failed to convince the player, who instead opted to remain in Ligue 1. The agent has blamed the Italians for making euros their top priority.

"Milan put everything down to money to convince him," the agent told Le Quotidien du Foot.

"But Gourcuff chose to consolidate this with performances. The money is not a priority."
