After today's training session, Kaká talked about his condition: "My conditions are improving and I'm training to come back for the second match of the league."

MILANELLO - Here are the declarations made by Ricky Kaká today after the training session at Milanello:

"My conditions are improving and I am preparing to come back for the second match of the league. Yesterday I did a test, I didn't feel pain. Today I worked harder to get back to playing more quickly.

I'm sad about not being able to be there for the first match of the league, I hope to be back for the match against Genoa, and I will be happy if we do as well there as we did last year.

Tomorrow there's the Uefa Cup draw, I'm unhappy I'm not playing in the Champions League this year. We will try to win the Uefa Cup, it's pointless...

PARIS (AFP) — France coach Raymond Domenech on Tuesday opted for youth over experience with veteran goalkeeper Gregory Coupet overlooked in the 20-man squad for a friendly against Sweden in Gothenburg on August 20.
The 35-year-old Coupet paid the price for his first team place not being assured in his new club Atletico Madrid and his mediocre performance at the European championships where he conceded six goals during their first round exit.
Rennes right back Rod Fanni and Yoann Gourcuff of Bordeaux have been given their first call-up.
Gourcuff has returned to France after a forgettable passage at AC Milan, who have loaned him to Bordeaux, while Fanni has been called in to fill the gap left by injured Bayern Munich defender Willy Sagnol and Lyon's Francois Clerc.

FC Girodins Bordeaux won the Trophée des Champions, beating Lyon 5-4 (of which Gourcuff scored one goal =) ). The match was played 2 August, so I'm a bit late, but here's a photo from the match.

Reports: Milan Hand Chelsea Kaka Option

There are reports in Italy that Chelsea only agreed to offload Andriy Shevchenko to Milan when the Italian club handed them an option on star man Kaka.
Yesterday it was announced that Shevchenko was rejoining Milan, just hours after the transfer had seemingly collapsed, and Vice President Adriano Galliani had publicly declared that Chelsea were unwilling to allow the Ukrainian to leave on loan, and only wanted to sell him permanently.
The turnaround by the English giants came as something of a surprise, and there is speculation in Italy that Chelsea only changed their mind when Milan handed them a future option on Kaka.
Chelsea have been consistently linked with a move for the European and World Footballer of the Year over the last few years, and this summer have been repeatedly associated with a mega-money bid for the star.

MILAN - Today the footballer Kaká was subjected to a control check by professor Martens who had already checked up on him in the past few months. Professor Martens confirmed that the player's knee is inflammated, and advised him to continue for 15 days with the therapeutic protocol he is following.
