Gourcuff wanted regular football and not necessarily the greatest wage packet, according to his representative. As a result, he is still plying his trade in Ligue 1...

Yoann Gourcuff rejected Milan's sizeable offers and elected to join Bordeaux permanently, agent Didier Poulmaire has revealed.

The Rossoneri sent Gourcuff on loan to the French side last year but there was a clause in the deal that allowed Bordeaux to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Les Girondins took advantage of the clause, but Milan reportedly wanted him to return permanently. However, they failed to convince the player, who instead opted to remain in Ligue 1. The agent has blamed the Italians for making euros their top priority.

"Milan put everything down to money to convince him,... Read more »

After failing to impress in the red and black half of Milan, Jose Mourinho is hoping to persuade Gourcuff his future lies with the Italian champions...

A number of names have been mooted for Inter's trequartista role, with Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart among those to be thrown into the pot, but Inter could shock the world of Calcio by moving for former Milan player Yoann Gourcuff.

The Ligue 1 Player of the Year scored twice for Bordeaux on Sunday as they eased to a 4-1 victory over Racing Club de Lens, and he has shown excellent control and awareness, as well as a knack of scoring some spectacular goals, in the colours of les Girondins.

According to 24oredisport.com, Jose Mourinho has ear-marked the 23-year-old as another option for his attacking midfield position. While Dejan Stankovic filled in the role last season, Mourinho is looking for a more natural attacking midfielder but his search has been fruitless so far.

The Rossoneri general declares he would have preferred to give up €15 than see the talented Frenchman leave for good…

With Bordeaux recently taking up their option to buy Yoann Gourcuff, after taking him on loan for the past twelve months, Milan director Adriano Galliani expressed his disappointment at seeing the Frenchman slip through his clubs hands.

“At first, we were accused of making a bad purchase, now we are being lambasted for making a wrong sale. I am slightly sorry that he [Gourcuff] has gone. However, given the fact we bought him for three million and sold him for fifteen, it can’t have been a bad sale.”

Despite Galliani’s efforts to try and tempt the Frenchman back to Milan, the Rossoneri executive admitted the uncertainty over a starting position proved too much of a s... Read more »

Milan have wished the midfielder the best of luck in his career...

Girondins Bordeaux have announced this afternoon they have completed the signing of midfielder Yoann Gourcuff on a four-year deal from AC Milan.

The Frenchman has been on loan with the Ligue 1 side this season and after some match-winning displays they have decided to exercise the option to sign him.

Bordeaux will have the chance to win the French title for the sixth time in their history this weekend and hence will call a press conference confirming the deal after the championship is decided.

There have been some words today though from the president of Bordeaux, Jean-Louis Triaud, who expressed his delight at the purchase.

"Tonight, I am the happiest president. I am thankful for the way the discussions ... Read more »

The Frenchman's destiny will be decided by whoever the Rossoneri boss will be for next season, whether it be Ancelotti or someone else...

The performances of Yoann Gourcuff have put Girondins Bordeaux on the verge of the Ligue 1 title, but the player's future is up in the air, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The French international, who flopped during a two-year stint at Milan, was subsequently loaned out to Bordeaux to gain experience. The midfielder has flourished there, but reportedly Carlo Ancelotti still does not believe the player would be an asset to the Rossoneri.

Gourcuff, has said he wants to have another crack at Serie A in the past, but would be unwilling to be a bit-player with the World Cup coming up next summer.

Potential Milan coaching candidate Marco van Baste... Read more »

A superb month both personally and for the 22-year-old French international’s team has been capped with the UNFP gong for April.

Girondins de Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff has been named the best player in France for April, seeing off the challenge of Olympique de Marseille pair Mamadou Niang and Brandao. He won the award, which is voted for on the UNFP (Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels), by claiming 48 per cent of the vote.

Gourcuff played five times for les Girondins during April, helping them remain in contention for the Ligue 1 title by winning all four of their league games. His role was pivotal, especially in a dramatic 3-2 win over Stade Rennais at the Stade de la Route de Lorient. Bordeaux, who were reduced to ten men early on, trailed 2-1 late in the game. Gourcuff struck ... Read more »

The French star is keen on returning to the San Siro, according to his coach...

Bordeaux playmaker Yoann Gourcuff is likely to head back to Milan as coach Laurent Blanc admits his star man wants a Serie A return.

The French ace, who is on loan at Bordeaux from the Rossoneri until the end of the season, has been a phenomenon in Ligue 1 this term, scoring 11 times for les Girondins to date. Blanc claims the Milan-owned man is ready to go back to Italy.

"Gourcuff wants to return to Milan," Blanc told L'Equipe.

Milan want €15 million from the French side if they are to keep him permanently, however, with this latest development, this seems unlikely to happen.

Gourcuff will therefore get his return to the San Siro. However, he is likely to find it hard fighting for a regular slo... Read more »
